A hat can completely change the way you look and feel! In this workshop you will make and take home your own custom designed felted hat. Jennifer Osborn, of All Sort Acres, guides you through measuring, shrinkage, creating a resist, and shaping techniques and discusses how these skills translate to other projects. You will use a combinations of both local and imported fibres, each that have their own purpose.
The instructor Jennifer Osborn is both a sheep farmer and a fibre artist. She uses the wool from her sheep in multiple artist practices including wet felting, needle felting, spinning and weaving. Her work can be seen at the FACTS Gallery & Creative space and at farmers markets around Ontario.
This workshop is super fun and physically intensive – you will be felting all afternoon.
Please bring 3 old bath towels in a plastic or plastic alternative bag as the towels will be getting wet.
