Let your creativity and imagination go with experimentation! Learn how to create stripes and patterns with our variegated dyeing class that will use only natural dyes. Using different dye techniques, including ombré, resist and direct application you will create your own unique patterns that will work up into one of a kind projects.

We will start the day with a breakfast of fruit, baked goods, coffee and tea while discussing colour theory and design. We will then start prepping our yarns in all the various ways to achieve pattern and start our initial dyeing. Lunch will be provided by Cait’s Café and offer us an opportunity to reflect on our progress. After lunch more layers of colour will be added to our samples and the day will end with some exciting reveals!

The workshop is lead by Jennifer Triemstra-Johnston, the Director of FACTS. Jennifer has been dyeing professionally for over 25 years and started working with natural dyes in 2006.
