Cathy Nethery is a wiz at crochet! Join us for a relaxing evening of stitching as Cathy introduces you to the basics of this traditional handwork. After teaching you the fundamental stitches, she will walk you through reading a pattern to create a stunning scarf using variegated yarn. All levels of experience welcome. Learn a new skill or brush up on an old one!

Cathy Nethery is an avid fabric artist and crochet genius. Specializing in intricate crochet blankets, Cathy continually wows her friends, neighbours and family with her stunning crochet creations. Curling up with one of Cathy’s blankets is a pure joy and act of love, as her blankets have comforted, nurtured and warmed for over three decades. Continually challenging herself with new patterns and inspired by her obsession with yarns, Cathy channels her love and creative energy into each blanket she makes.
Cathy Nethery has lived in the Blyth area for the past 35 years with her husband Larry. Her passion for crochet grew as a creative outlet throughout her life. A mother of three grown children, 23 years as a Correctional Officer and the owner of the former BJ’s Cafe in Blyth, Cathy has many interests, skills and talents. Always looking for a creative expression, Cathy also creates stained glass, acrylic painting, pottery and macramé. Cathy loves travel, art, theatre and spending time at the beach and with her family.
